Our 6 Step Web Development Process

In order to keep projects running smoothly, on time and budget it is essential to have all steps planned before the project is started. Using the following six steps, we ensure that the end product is exactly what you are looking for at the price agreed on.

1. Planning/Analysis

This is the most important step of the project. Having a detailed plan about the functionality required will ensure the projects moves along with out any issue as well as keep the project on time and budget. After contacting us, we ask a series of questions relating to how the site is going to function and the user experience. Next, a document called the functional specification is created. This document outlines the specific functionailty on each page. After all of the details are worked out, we can then provide a price and time frame for the completion of the project.

2. Design

After all of the pages and what will be on them has been planned, we begin the design phase of the project. Here every page that needs a custom designed will be designed. We provide 2 initial designs and will revise them up to 3 times to meet your needs.

3. Development

Once designs are approved, we move to the development phase. Here the designed pages are coded and usually filled with greek content and temporary images. This will show how the pages will looks when they are filled with yout content.

4. Testing

This is another very important step in the process of developing a website. Here, you will get to see what your site is actually going to look like and how it will function. If you included a content management system in your project, in this step you will be able to start adding your content and ensuring everything functions as intended.

5. Deployment/Launching

When testing is complete, it is time to move the site to your server. We can do this a few ways depending on what you need. If can provide ftp access to your server and access to the hosting account or control panel, we can move the files ourselves and get the site up and running for you. If we cannot access the server, we can provide the files with detailed instructions on how to launch the site.

6. Maintenance/Updates

Now that your site is done, you may need to make updates and changes. Or maybe you need to add or change how something functions. We can provide a content management system that will enable you to enter content whenever and wherever you want, as long as you have access to the internet. We can also update your site for you. Since you are busy running your business we will ensure content is added in a timely manner as it is provided to us.

Every web development project we do follows these steps. Some steps may be done in a different order or while another is still in progress, but in the long run following all of the steps will make sure we provide you with the website that you need.
