How we got 1,000 hits in August, without paying a penny
Since starting Revolution Unlimited in 2009 it has always been a goal to get more traffic to my website. Isn't that every business/website owners goal? More traffic means more brand awareness and more revenue. Through organic search engine optimization I was able to gain a lot of exposure. Here is how I did it.
1. Article writing
Since June, I have been writing articles on various topics. I've written about everything from website design to web programming tips to search engine optimization. The reason I started writing articles was to establish my expertise in my field, website design and development. Writing articles or blogging is a great way to let your potential customers know that you are a professional and an expert in your field.
One article in particular, Why most small business websites fail, got me the most traffic. The reason if got so much traffic was because it was posted on another website, dzone.com, which lead hundreds of qualified users to my website. The most consistent traffic I receive to my website comes from writing articles. Others article submission websites including digg.com, stumbleupon.com, and ezinearticles.com also contributed to a big portion of my traffic.I notice a 500% increase in traffic on days I write articles compared to days I don't.
2. Organic search engine optimization
Writing articles based around my services, with links to my services, has been one technique used to gain traffic to my services pages. Along with optimizing header tags, h1, h2, h3, <title> tags, image tags, and anchor <a href=""></a> tags, all of these techniques together have helped me gain more popularity to my website. My alexa page rank which was well over 1,000,000, dropped over 500,000 points just from these organic search engine optimization techniques.
3. Directory submissions
Every day, I try to submit my website to at least 10 free directory websites. Onewaytextlink.com, has a list of free directories and paid directories. You can create and account and mark which directories you have submitted to. But don't limit your self to just these directories. Do a search for local directories and submit your website to as many as possible. I have gotten the most hits to my website from my free local directory submissions.
You can achieve these results too, and I can help. Contact me today to learn how we can help you get more hits to your websites and more business.
