8 tips to liven up your business blog

Blogging is key to a successful website
Everyone knows what a blog is today, and almost everyone is blogging. There are millions of blogs on the internet about every subject you could possibly imagine. Blogging has grown from being more of a personal diary to a must have for your business. Here are 8 tips to help liven up your business blog.
1. Tag your blog posts with keywords
Make sure your tags link to a search page for the keywords as well. This will not only allow your users to easily find related blog posts, but is also great for search engines.
2. Use a human voice
The internet has become much more informal than it used to be. Your blog posts should have a natural feel, like you are talking to someone. Show off your compassion, knowledge, and charisma in your blog posts. This will lead to establishing yourself as an authority in your niche.
3. Host your blog on your domain
I believe this is one of the most important tips in this article. There are many free blogging platforms available such as word press and blogger, that you can easily create a blog. But to get to your blog visitors have to leave your website and most likely won't be coming back.
4. Pay attention to your blog titles
People who subscribe to your blog are going to be looking at your titles to decide whether or not they want to read your posts. Make sure to include keywords as well as short, to the point blog titles. Try to include some of the keywords you are using in your blog post in the title as well.
5. Get a custom content management solution
Prebuilt systems can be great, but when it comes down to it, you need a system that is going to do exactly what you need it to and make it easy for your writers. There are many systems available, do some research and try some content management system demos to decide which is best for you.
6. Use multimedia in your posts
Don't just write long textual articles. Add some images, videos, where appropriate. You don't want to go over board with multimedia and lose focus on your text or slow the page load time.
7. Rewrite URLs to be user and search engine friendly
User friendly URLs are easier to read and give the user an idea of what the blog post will be about. Keep your URLs short and to the point, and try to include some of your keywords. What looks better to you:
http://www.yoursite.com?pg=100
OR

8. Be original
I think this has become more and more important. Anyone can blog about anything and many people start blogs about the most popular topics to try and get more traffic. A better approach is to find a subject that hasn't been flooded with tons of other posts. The same with keywords, the more niche specific your blog is, the more traffic you are likely to get.
