Lead generation is the goal
The key goal of many websites is to generate leads. Encouraging visitors to sign up for mailing lists, fill out contact forms, or call or visit the office is key for a lawyer website. There a many ways to encourage users to contact you. In this article I will discuss 5 ways to encourage visitors to contact you through your website.
1. Contact forms
Contact forms are great for encouraging visitors to your website to contact you. It's quick and easy and that's what everyone is looking for. Make it easy for a visitor to end up at a contact form by using different calls and links within all of the text on your website. Nobody will fill out a form if they can't find it.
2. Mailing lists
Email marketing has the highest return on investment of all marketing methods. Using a mailing list properly can lead you to success. Offer visitors something for signing up, whether it's a discount or a free download, giving something away will entice visitors to sign up. Then keep in touch by sending them weeky or monthly updates with special offers just for them. Be sure to include a link to view your email in their browser as well as an unsubscribe link.
3. Contact information
Put your contact information somewhere that is easy to find. Including you phone number and address on every page has become the standard for most websites. This gives visitors access to contact you no matter what page the visit on your website. If they have a question about your services, they can easily pick up the phone and give you a call at that moment rather than having to search for your contact information.
4. Calls to action
Calls to action are extremely important for generating leads through your website, yet I feel they are very underutilized. Of course you don't want to go crazy and put a bunch of big colorful graphics in your content, but used tastefully they can be very effective. With Google analytics, you can even test your calls to action to see which are working best and which need to be modified or removed.
5. Good content
Content is king. When search engines first popped up they were very simple and meta data was almost all they had. As they have advanced and continue to advance, content has become more and more important. Good content entices sharing and increases loyalty amongst your visitors. Including links to your contact forms in your content will make a visitor want to contact you or sign up for your mailing list. I do it all the time. If I read a great article I'll sign up for the mailing list.
