A simple, usable website is MUCH better than a complicated unusable website

Follow the K.I.S.S. method
Keep. It. Simple. Stupid. When it comes to pleasing customers, nothing makes them happier than being able to get what they want easily. Whether it's your phone number, your address, a product or service you offer, or even just sending you a message, make it easy for them and they will be happy.
Keeping your website simple
So what is the difference between a simple and a complicated website? When you think simple don't think about not having advanced features, or a plain looking 5 page website. When you think about a simple website you should be considering website usability. This includes having a simple, easy to understand navigation system, an easy way to find your contact information or contact form, and a general ease of access to information on your website. Including a search can be a great way to make it easier for customers to find what they are looking for on your website.
Customers will LOVE your easy to use website
When a customer is visiting your website, they are looking for a solution to their problem. Usually, customers will enter their issue into a search engine and if they end up on your website, the solution to their issue should be easy to find. Have you ever searched for a plumber on a search engine, but when you got to the plumbers website they didn't have any contact information? How frustrating is it to find the product or service you're looking for but not be able to get more information about buying that product or ordering that service? Make it easy and your customers will keep coming back.
Ease of use and search engine optimization
Search engines use what are called "spiders" or "bots" to crawl the web and analyze websites. A search engine spider is a program that visits websites and records information related to what the website is about. Then when a user searches for that information, your website will be shown. Of course it is much more complicated than this, but we're keeping it simple today. For a search engine spider an easy to use website means an easy to understand website, and the spider will be able to record accurate data about your website. Using text links with good keywords is key to having your content indexed properly and getting the best organic search results.
